Small Groups
We want to be a big church and a small church at the same time. Therefore, we believe that small group discipleship can help us achieve this vision, which was first and foremost the vision of the Lord Jesus.
THE VISION OF THE LORD JESUS:
Jesus preached to the crowds, then he had a group of 70 disciples he cared for more closely, a group of 12 disciples he invested even more in, and finally, a group of 3 he spent even more time with.
The Lord Jesus, after his ascension, entrusted the work further to a group of 11 disciples to whom he gave the Great Commission, having no plan "B" in case they failed.
VISION OF THE EARLY CHURCH:
The church later adopted the same model, meeting in places specifically designated for congregational meetings as well as in homes (Acts 20:20).
BENEFITS OF GROUP WORK:
Small groups are where church members
- I can serve: Small groups create opportunities for service for a significant number of church members who would otherwise remain inactive. This leads to the maturation of the church that "grows by what each member gives."
- Can be served more effectively: Small groups create a favorable context for RELATIONSHIPS (building closer relationships between church members), SUPPORT (support in difficult times), GROWTH (access to counseling and mentoring).
- I can more effectively fulfill the mandate left by Christ for the church, starting from evangelization - conversion - equipping and finally sending.
STRUCTURE:
The Betania Groups department currently includes 44 small groups coordinated by approximately 100 leaders:
- 21 Groups by category: youth groups, sister groups, young family groups/mature families, mothers with young children, etc.
- 1 International Group
- 5 Specific Groups: Prayer Groups/Bible Study/Mission/Homeschooling
- 8 Ministry Groups: The Ministry/Organization Departments of the church
- 8 Life-on-Life Groups - small groups of men focused on evangelism - equipping - maturing - man-to-man
- 2 Leader Equipment Groups (Youth and Adults)
The Betania Groups year is divided into two seasons: February - June - December
